“Sustained cold temperatures in Japan, China, and South Korea—the world’s three largest LNG consumers—
prompted an increase in space heating demand, a drawdown in LNG inventories, and an
increase in LNG prices. LNG shipping constraints because of congestion at the Panama Canal and
unplanned outages at multiple LNG export facilities were also significant contributors.”
