Here are some charts from recent EIA publications.. The first three are from This Week in Petroleum (http://www.eia.gov/petroleum/weekly/), showing stock levels in crude oil, gasoline and heating oil:
Crude oil stocks built last week, but should soon see seasonal draws as refiners come back online:
The decline in gasoline stocks is a steep one, but seasonal, reflecting strong gasoline demand:
Distillate demand is running 12% below last year YTD and 7% below last year based on the 4 week average:
Despite the recent price rally in crude oil, the EIA’s Short Term Energy Outlook (http://www.eia.gov/forecasts/steo/) estimates that supply/demand for oil are still not expected to come into balance until the 2nd half of 2017:
