The top performing equity markets in 2016 from those listed in the back of the Economist magazine are Brazil, 38.2%; Columbia, +30.3%; Russia, +24.6%; and, Hungary, +21.0%…. I like to check in on this series to remind me of Bernard Baruch’s line about buying straw hats in the winter time… (I’m guessing there were no forward curves in straw hats during his time…)…
