Leading academic, government, and private sector experts examined the economics of global commodities prices at the NBER’s 31st Annual Conference on Macroeconomics, April 14 and 15. James D. Hamilton of the University of California at San Diego, Steven B. Kamin of the Federal Reserve Board, and Steven Strongin of Goldman Sachs focused on the effects of a cooling Chinese economy and on the future of oil prices in general and fracking in particular. Conference presentations and interviews with the researchers will be posted over the next six weeks.
