Dueling Nowcasts… – Commodity Research Group

The NY Fed and the Atlanta Fed each publish GDP Nowcasts which try to estimate current quarter GDP using the most recent economic data points… But not only are the estimates far apart, they are moving in opposite directions!

Here is Atlanta’s latest (+1.2%) and path of estimates:
